Playstation 3 VS. Xbox 360

I think what Microsoft is planning is that they release XBox 360 a half year before PS3, so when PS3 comes out...they'll have like...a $50-$100 drop in price.

The PS3 is rumored to come out in Japan for 50000 Yen, which is approx $462USD. But, the PS2 was released in Japan earlier too and it was more expensive, so I expect it to come out around $400. But, I don't know, haven't been keeping up on it lately. Is there any more updated info on this?

according to xbox magazine the new xbox 360 is going to be in the 300 dollar price range!! Makes me happy

Update, its only 5 years late, but I bought a Playstation. LOL

The XBOX 360 is a clear winner. The GPU is more powerful. It has more powerful fillrate, and far more pixel and vertex processing horsepower. Part of the reason is their choice of memory, and architecture of pixel and vertex procesing. I can't get into details but the same vertex shader will run much slower on the PS3 than the XBOX 360.
