Mouse issues...need help
Hello, I'm new to the forums, and I'm hoping someone here can help me.
I've had this problem for months, and even two complete system reformats have not been able to resolve it...
I've used nothing but laser mice from the start, but in the last 6-8 months, I've had an issue where my mouse pointer will freeze, but the mouse will still respond to clicks and movements. Once this happens, the only way I can fix it is to reboot the computer.
As I said before, I've tried everything from changing the refresh rate on the monitor (thinking it was electromagnetic interference or something) to swapping mice to reinstalling Windows XP Pro to even reformatting the whole computer, to no avail.
What can anyone suggest? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Nerdhelp.
Try This: click start, control panel, accessibility options, mouse (tab), check "use mouse keys", apply, ok.
Now if the freezing happens again, try to use your keypad to control you mouse. That way we can tell if it is a hardware problem or software\driver problem. (you can take this feature off, once this probem is solved)
Also, what kind of mosue are you using: USB or PS\2?

It's a Logitech USB mouse. I'm using Windows XP Home edition (sorry if I previously mentioned it as being Pro...confused my home PC with my work PC).

Hello,
I would suggest you to use mouse pad to see whether it is a hardware problem or simple mouse problem. If its related to hardware then you will have to get your computer repaired from some professional computer repair expert.

Mouse issues need help
This is the theorem you need:"Given a point P in the interior of a circle, pass two lines through P that intersect the circle in points A and D and, respectively, B and C. Then AP·DP = BP·CP." I found it by googling on "intersecting chords". In your case that says that 5x22x1= 5x-23x-1. Multiply it out and solve the quadratic equation.
